Martin Hellawell joins video game developer as non-exec director

Softcat chairman signs up with Team17

Softcat chairman Martin Hellawell has joined game developer Team17 Group as non-executive director.

Team17 is listed on the London Stock Exchange, with a portfolio of games including Worms, Overcooked and The Escapists.

Hellawell joins Team17 having become chairman of Raspberry Pi last month.

He said: "I am thrilled to be joining such an exciting company at this important stage of its development.

"I have been following the company for some time and can't wait to take up my position on the board. I thoroughly look forward to working with my new colleagues at Team17."

Hellawell became chairman of Softcat last year, having previously helmed the reseller through a period of tremendous growth and its IPO, between 2006 and 2018.

Team17 listed on the London Stock Exchange last year and currently has a market cap of £394m.
