Kaseya plays matchmaker as MSP merger creates £11m-revenue business

Microsoft Gold partner CMI merges with BTA

Two UK MSPs have merged to create an £11m managed service provider, after a "chance meeting" at Kaseya's Connect IT Europe event.

CMI has acquired London-based counterpart BTA, forming a business with 100 members of staff across Belfast, London and Maidenhead.

Microsoft Gold partner CMI is based in Belfast, and claims to have recently hit annual sales of £5m, according to The Irish News.

Other vendors in its portfolio include Veeam, VMware, HP, Dell and Sophos.

BTA, meanwhile, was founded in 1994 and offers services around cloud, disaster recovery and networking.

CMI managing director Ken Roulston said: "The acquisition of BTA will create an even stronger IT service provider.

"We take great pride in providing our customers with the best advice, so that they get the most from their IT investment."

CMI said the acquisition, which was funded by Panoramic Growth Equity, gives it access to the wider UK market.

The two businesses met at the mergers and acquisition symposium of the Kaseya event last year.

Kaseya CEO Fred Voccola said of the deal: "The success of our customers drives every decision we make.

"The fact that a chance meeting between CMI and BTA happened at our Connect IT Europe conference last year during our M&A symposium, and ultimately led to this purchase, is the kind of customer news we love to hear about.

"It's humbling to know that we played a small part in helping to make this deal happen."
