Northamber edges towards acquisition
Distributor looks to boosts its audiovisual credentials
Northamber is in discussions to acquire specialist distributor Audio Visual Materials Limited (AVM).
In a note to the London Stock Exchange, the distributor said a deal "will assist in enhancing and expanding Northamber's specialist AV division which focuses on driving higher margin profitable growth for AV and IT resellers in the areas".
AVM counts a number of specialist AV vendors among its portfolio, including Draper, Philips and Panasonic.
The firm files exempt accounts with Companies House and so does not disclose revenue.
Northamber said the potential acquisition would boost its credentials around professional displays, projection, audio, video conferencing, visitor management and room booking systems.
However the distie added there is "no guarantee" that the deal would be completed.
Northamber's share price is up around 80 per cent on the start of the year, largely because of a huge leap at the start of July when it announced a £16m warehouse sale.
Earlier this month the distributor announced the passing of its founder David phillips.
