Commvault snares Dell exec to lead EMEA business
Marco Fanizzi becomes Commvault VP of EMEA
Dell's Italian managing director Marco Fanizzi has jumped ship to lead the EMEA business for back-up vendor Commvault.
In his new role as EMEA VP, Fanizzi (pictured) will lead more than 70 markets across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Fanizzi was Dell's managing director for Italy for three years, having previously led EMC's sales in the country.
He joins fellow ex-EMC exec David Boyle who was recently named as Americas sales VP at Commvault.
"I am confident that Marco's extensive experience - especially in the financial and enterprise sectors across Europe - will rapidly accelerate the expansion of our already growing EMEA business," Commvault chief revenue officer Riccardo Di Blasio said.
Fanizzi said that among his initial priorities will be a push to better communicate what the vendor is doing in the market.
"I see the company leadership establishing an entirely new market for truly seamless integration of storage and data management processes. These are bold and pioneering steps for any vendor in the market and we need to ensure all of our EMEA users know about it," he said.
"My first priority is to spend time with our people, customers and partners to listen to what they need and expect from next-generation data management solutions so we can continue to deliver on those."
