Carr to drive SCC's professional services arm

Former Trustmarque boss will help grow AI and IoT practices in new role

SCC has appointed Andrew Carr in a role that will see the former Trustmarque boss develop new IoT and AI practices for the Birmingham-based IT group.

In his post of director of professional services, Carr is tasked with growing SCC's Professional Services division, which spans areas including end-user computing, datacentre modernisation, enterprise platforms, networking and security and enterprise architecture.

Developing new practices for emerging technologies, including AI and IoT, will also be a focus of the role.

SCC grew UK revenue 15 per cent to £681m in its fiscal 2019, with services revenue up two per cent to £185m.

"I have long admired SCC as a company and a competitor and I am delighted to join them at this exciting time," said Carr, who headed up Capita-owned Microsoft partner Trustmarque between 2016 and 2018.

"SCC presents me with a significant opportunity to develop and grow an already established Professional Services Practice with the most passionate group of people I have worked with over the years. I am excited by this opportunity and look forward to growing our business in partnership with our managed and data centre services colleagues."
