Sabio snaps up UK-based Google Cloud partner

Contact centre VAR acquires London-headquartered consultancy DVELP

Contact centre VAR Sabio has continued its M&A spree with the purchase of UK-based Google Cloud partner DVELP.

The London-headquartered cloud consultancy was established in 2015 and counts Marks & Spencer among its customers. It also claims to be the leading partner of cloud comms platform Twillio in the UK and EMEA. It marks the second purchase by Sabio this year, having acquired Spanish firm Team vision earlier in January.

Mike Andrews, Sabio's VP of commercial strategy, told CRN that DVELP's acquisition will augment the contact centre (CC) specialist's existing portfolio and gives it more "breadth" to deliver value to customers.

"DVELP are absolute specialists at delivering innovative solutions based around native cloud technologies such as Google contact centre AI (CCAI) and Twilio, and provide a good methodology that enables them to rapidly build, test and deploy these solutions," he explained.

"[This acquisition] is part of our strategy to establish ourselves as Europe's leading independent customer experience (CX) and CC organisation focused around delivering thought leadership, great implementation and technologies.

"Through this acquisition, we also gain a really strong product capability as well; that is a technology that enables organisations to rapidly leverage the cloud technologies such as Google CCAI and Twilio to build really powerful conversational CX platforms."

DVELP has a headcount of 30 developers and consultants based throughout Europe. Their addition will bring the Sabio Group's headcount to over 630.

Andrews added that the rationale behind the decision was based on the "real change" in the types of technologies being offered by the likes of Google Cloud and Twilio.

"We're seeing our clients wanting to consume technology and services in different ways, using more public cloud technologies. It enables us to develop a proven and highly referenced organisation dedicated to harnessing native cloud technology technologies and delivering those sorts of solutions," he said.

"The acquisition of DVELP really accelerates Sabio's ability to take those kinds of capabilities and services to our clients."

Sabio chief exec Jonathan Gale added: "We anticipate a significant migration of CX and CC technology to the cloud over the coming years and believe that DVELP will be instrumental in helping Sabio clients to benefit from the democratisation of world-class NLU and AI technologies.

"I am delighted to be welcoming DVELP founder and CEO Tom Mullen and the DVELP team to the Sabio Group, extending Sabio's capability and accelerating our innovation strategy."
