Join the Channel Danceoff

It's the lockdown craze sweeping the industry

The channel loves a good contest - and never more so than now, during lockdown - so CRN is backing a new online dance challenge that's open to the entire industry.

The Channel Danceoff is a concept dreamt up by Glenn Robertson, CEO of marketing agency Purechannels.

Robertson agreed to perform - and share on LinkedIn - a dance routine devised by his daughter, and now wants other channel pros to follow suit using the hashtag #channeldanceoff.

All dancers and dances are welcome - solos, duos, pets - whatever takes your fancy.

We will publish a shortlist of the best dances on ChannelWeb, before two finalists run off in a head to head. Robertson's own dance (below), looks to be an early contender.

As Robertson himself acknowledged in his post, lockdown has broken down the barriers between our work and personal lives.

"The last few weeks, whilst a huge struggle for many, has also been an opportunity to be more accepting and understanding of people's lives," he said.

"We are welcoming each other into our homes, breaking down the barriers that we've put up ourselves that create a facade of separation between our business and our personal lives."

CRN readers can join the Channel Danceoff by posting your routines on Twitter or LinkedIn using the #channeldanceoff hashtag.

The deadline for entries is Monday 25 May.

CRN and Robertson will jointly pick a shortlist of routines that we will publish on channelweb.co.uk, before two finalists are chosen to go head to head (thanks to corporate rewards provider CR Worldwide for agreeing to stump up a small prize).
