Acquisitive Irish MSP snags Singapore-based Apple reseller

Acquisitive IT procurement and services firm builds out presence in APAC

Irish player Arkphire has bolstered its presence in the APAC region by acquiring Apple reseller Generic Technologies.

The acquisition comes after the €150m-revenue firm opened an office in Singapore last year, appointing Chris Ambler to lead expansion in the wider APAC region.

Founded in 1992, Generic Technologies is an Apple Authorised Reseller and Gold-level Adobe partner with annual revenues of nine million Singapore dollars (€5.85m). Arkphire claims the business has an established base of customers ranging from multinationals, businesses in the digital and creative sector and SMEs.

Arkphire's Ambler claims the acquisition will help it expand further in the APAC market.

"Generic Technologies' business is a natural fit for our ambition in the Asia Pacific region. This latest development will allow us to better support the global requirements of our customers and will enable us to leverage Generic's existing customer and partner relationships," he said.

The latest M&A play comes just a few months after Arkphire acquired fellow Dublin-based firm Trilogy Technologies, creating a business with close to €150m and 220 staff.

At the time, Arkphire described the move as the first major move towards consolidation in the Irish managed services space.
