CAE buys new HQ to drive after hitting £130m revenue

Firm to leave current base after nearly 20 years

CAE Technology Services has bought a new HQ in Hemel Hempstead as it continues to grow rapidly following its MBO.

The firm has been at its current Watford base for nearly 20 years but will make the 10-mile move to bigger premises, around a year and a half after CEO Justin Harling led a management buyout.

Harling (pictured) said: "The CAE team is our most valuable asset and we had identified the need to provide them with the best possible work environment prior to the onset of Covid-19.

"Although the short term is difficult to predict, we know that this is the right move for the long-term success of CAE and will allow us to work even more effectively with our customers, partners and suppliers."

Earlier this year CAE reported sales of £132.9m for the year ending June 2019, up 28 per cent on the previous 12 months.

The firm also ranked 26th in the recently published Sunday Times Profit Track 100.

CAE said it will make the move to Hemel Hampstead gradually, aiming to complete the transition in Q3 next year.

The new base is 30,000 sq ft, 12,000 sq ft more than the its current HQ, and will house warehousing, service desk facilities and a NOC environment.
