COVID-19's channel impact in eight graphs: Demand levels slump in third CRN snapshot poll

Although respondents less worried than they were…

In a complete reversal of fortunes over the past six weeks, the overwhelming majority of channel pros are now seeing lower - rather than higher - than usual demand for their products and services.

That's the headline finding of CRN's third COVID-19 snapshot survey, which examines how the global pandemic is impacting our audience over time (see graphs below).

Over 60 per cent of those questioned in the third poll (conducted between 9 April and 11 May), reported lower-than-usual demand for their products and services, compared with just 30 per cent who reported higher-than-usual demand.

Those figures are an almost exact mirror image of our first poll in late March, when 59 per cent reported higher-than-usual demand, and 31 per cent said demand was down.

In the latest poll, some 72 per cent said their firms have now revised growth forecasts downwards, compared with 63 and 65 per cent in polls one and two, while the number of firms furloughing staff has also risen - to 56 per cent.

Despite this, respondents were generally less worried than in the previous two polls.

Poll three was conducted between 9 April and 11 May, and had 57 responses.
