Hyperscaler OVHcloud targets UK healthcare space

French IaaS giant targets the UK market’s healthcare vertical

France-headquartered hyperscaler giant OVHcloud is targeting the UK's healthcare vertical with a portfolio of health data private cloud services.

The company brands itself as Europe's sole local hyperscaler.

On its 20th anniversary in 2019, CEO Michel Paulin told CRN sister title CPI that he has been asking European partners to see the company as the continent's "trustworthy" cloud provider.

Commenting on the UK launch of its healthcare cloud services, he appealed to European partners again to consider the firm a more secure offering than its US and Chinese rivals, because data will be kept locally.

"Our OVHcloud Healthcare offering delivers all the advantages of a flexible, scalable solution on fully-dedicated, highly secure and auditable infrastructure," he said.

"It's been designed to provide a trustworthy solution for healthcare organisations seeking hassle-free transition to the cloud. We're delighted to now be extending this offering to the UK market."

OVHcloud Healthcare was first rolled out in France four years ago.

It's since been extended to Germany, Italy and Poland.

OVHcloud Healthcare is hosted on OVHcloud Private Cloud, which is an isolated cloud infrastructure. The UK services will be hosted in the company's London datacentre.

OVHcloud has 19 datacentres spread across EMEA. It also has operations in Singapore and Canada.
