How can MSPs build a business with new channel superpower AWS?
AWS partner lead Amanda Sleight will be answering YOUR questions at our upcoming virtual summit
AWS is the channel's new superpower, garnering the eighth most number of responses in our recent Vendor Report - behind only Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, HPE, HP, Lenovo and VMware.
The public cloud behemoth topped $10bn quarterly revenues in its latest quarter, meaning it is now larger than both Oracle and HPE.
And yet - judging by the feedback we regularly receive - not all resellers and MSPs know how to begin building a profitable business with this cloudy juggernaut.
We know from the feedback forms submitted after our MSP events that building revenues with AWS and the other hyperscalers is the topic you most want to know about.
In light of this, we invited - at very short notice - four of the biggest public cloud mega-beasts - the chance to summarise their partner strategy at our upcoming Deskflix - The Future of the MSP - virtual event on 23 July.
We are delighted to announce that the biggest hyperscaler of the lot has accepted the challenge, with AWS partner lead Amanda Sleight agreeing to discuss how MSPs can best go about building a business with the IaaS market's 800lb-gorilla at 11.30am on the day.
MSPs and resellers can register for the event for free here.
AWS put in a respectable performance in CRN's 2019 Vendor Report, defying its direct-selling heritage by finishing a respectable eighth overall. It ranked second in the Technology Leadership category, where it was variously branded by its partners as a "clear leader", a "visionary", and the "innovator of the industry".
The giant remains convinced that more business is set to come its way, with AWS CEO Andy Jassy recently claiming that firms who don't embrace public cloud are "fighting gravity".
Despite this, AWS remains an enigma to many in the channel.
Last year, Canalys estimated that just 15 per cent of AWS' business is generated by the channel, compared with 74 per cent for Microsoft Azure.
We will be quizzing Sleight on how MSPs can take advantage of AWS programmes to make money, how much AWS is investing in the channel, and what kind of behaviour and characteristics AWS will be seeking from its MSP/consultancy partners over the next 12 months.
