Brit CEO resigns following racist outburst
Michael Lofthouse was filmed in the middle of a verbal attack on an Asian family
The British CEO of a San Francisco-based cloud consultancy firm has resigned after being filmed racially abusing an Asian family at a restaurant.
Footage of Michael Lofthouse hurling racial abuse went viral last week.
The now-former chief exec is shown shouting "Trump is going go f--- you. You Asian piece of sh--", before being asked to leave the restaurant.
In a statement sent to the San Francisco Chronicle Lofthouse said that he has left Solid8, "terminating all businesses relationships with immediate effect".
He also claimed to have enrolled on an "anti-racist programme".
"My comments towards the families involved were racist, hurtful and deeply inappropriate," he said.
"The reactions to what was said have been deserved."
Lofthouse has seemingly deactivated his LinkedIn profile, but according to reports he listed himself as having spells at HP and IBM in the UK, before moving to the US in 2010.
Solid8 has removed all information from its website, which now states "coming soon".
On its LinkedIn page it claims to offer enterprise solutions including UCaaS, SD-WAN cybersecurity and managed hosting.
