AWS turns huge Las Vegas partner conference into three-week virtual event

Physical event in November will no longer take place

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has scrapped its huge Las Vegas Re:Invent partner conference, replacing it with a three week virtual event.

Re:Invent usually sees 65,000 partners and develops decent on Sin City at the end of November for a five-day event, but the public cloud giant has now revealed plans for a virtual-only event.

AWS has confirmed that virtual attendance of the event will be free.

Re:Invent has been held in Las Vegas since its inauguration in 2012.

Microsoft recently hosted its Inspire event in a virtual format over two days, while Google's Next conference is currently in the middle of its nine-week run.
