HPE channel boss Hunter takes North America MD role
Paul Hunter has been the vendor's global channel head since 2017
Hewlett Packard Enterprise's (HPE) global channel boss Paul Hunter has taken the role of North America managing director at the vendor.
Hunter replaces Dan Belanger, who departs after over 30 years at HPE.
The vendor's chief sales officer Heiko Meyer confirmed the news in a blog post.
He said: "This is an exciting move not only for Paul, but for the North America Sales organisation. Paul has been instrumental in accelerating our pivot to becoming the edge-to-cloud platform-as-a-service company.
"With more than 700 partners now selling HPE GreenLake, he has shown strong leadership and brought a fresh perspective to the organization.
"His experience in moving partners from a transactional to a more strategic business outcome model is our future."
Hunter started his career with Hewlett Packard in the UK, eventually leading the PC and print division before the vendor split in two.
He was then chief of staff for former CEO Meg Whitman, before taking on the global channel role in 2017.
Posting on LinkedIn he said: "…thank you to all the partners that have been a huge part of our progress in the past three years.
"The relationships that we have enjoyed, the personal support I have received and the experiences shared have been a rich source of thinking nutrients.
"I look forward to working with the North American team, partners and customers, and to listening to the good ideas and feedback for further improvement."
