Former AWS boss Jackson takes MD role at Microsoft
Gavin Jackson was most recently at RPA vendor UiPath
Gavin Jackson has joined Microsoft as the vendor's managing director for enterprise commercial business in the UK.
Jackson (pictured) was most recently European boss at robotic process automation vendor UiPath, a role he started last year.
He said: "I am excited to join Microsoft, whose cloud business has gone from strength to strength in the UK thanks to a reputation for putting customers first and supporting businesses on their digital transformation journeys.
"I look forward to the opportunity to work with this world-class team to take the commercial business to the next level."
Prior to working at UiPath Jackson spent four years at Amazon Web Services, where he headed up the UK and EMEA.
At Microsoft he replaces Damian Stirrett, who Microsoft said would be taking on a new role with the vendor.
Microsoft's UK CEO Cindy Rose said: "I want to thank Damian for his fantastic leadership of our enterprise business and the incredible success he and his team have generated for our UK customers.
"At the same time, I'm very pleased to welcome Gavin who brings a wealth of expertise and experience in leading commercial teams and businesses.
"He is uniquely qualified to lead Microsoft's commercial business into the future and build on the success we have achieved with our customers."
