How the channel kept the UK moving in 2020

At last night's Channel Awards, we took a quick look back at how distributors, resellers and MSPs have proved their worth this year...

The channel has displayed its true colours in 2020.

IT distributors, resellers and managed services providers have kept essential goods flowing, worked out of hours to install and support infrastructure and devices in ICUs, hospitals and care homes, supported frontline workers with free software, and underpinned a mass shift to remote working among their clients.

In this video, aired at last night's virtual CRN Channel Awards, we took a look back at how firms in our sector stepped up in 2020.

This includes Cisco partner Block Solutions, which was tasked with installing the IT infrastructure for NHS Nightingale London in just seven days, and has since gone on to repeat the feat at other NHS Nightingale hospitals.

"Normally we'd get a year to build a new hospital," Block CEO Mark Chang told us in the wake of the project.

Another example highlighted in the video is mobile security VAR Bridgeway Security, which set up a non-profit to equip hospital patients and care home residents with reprovisioned mobile devices.
