Timico acquires Arcus Global cloud spin-off

Multi million pound deal will see Arcus Cloud Solutions provide services across the AWS platform

Timico has acquired the AWS managed services arm of Arcus Global.

Arcus Cloud Services (ACS) is an established AWS partner since 2011 with a focus on public sector organisations.

Timico declared that the acquisition provides it with another notch in its belt in its goal of becoming one of the UK's leading cloud-based MSPs noting that both itself and ACS have been named as suppliers on G-Cloud 12.

"Arcus Cloud Services marks an exciting development in the continued evolution of our business and further strengthens the growing portfolio of our digital infrastructure services and solutions," stated Timico chief exec Neil Muller.

"The highly talented ACS team has an excellent pedigree as an established and trusted AWS partner, and we are delighted to be adding their knowledge and professional capability to our hyperscale hosting practice. We're looking forward to welcoming the ACS team to Timico and delivering our customers further long-term customer value."

Timico intends for its new addition to build on its client propositions and services across cloud migrations, cloud contact centres and desktop-as-a-service offerings. It will also provide advice, design, implementation and managed services across the AWS platform.

Details of the deal were not disclosed, but Timico said it was a "multi-million-pound" investment and was supported by Timico's private equity backer Horizon Capital.

Both companies will continue to operate independently under their respective banners.

The ACS acquisition is an important step in building a market leader in the digital transformation market and is the third acquisition we have made with Timico since our investment.

Arcus Global said that the sale of the AWS managed services arm will allow it to concentrate on its specialist SaaS platform which targets central and local government institutions.

It added that it will use capital from the sale to invest in R&D for the platform.
