Which reseller featured in Glassdoor's Best Places to Work list this year?

Company review site's annual ranking dominated by tech organisations

Softcat is the only reseller to make it into the top ten of Glassdoor's Best Places to Work in the UK for 2021.

The company review site publishes the list of the 50 best places to work in the UK annually. Rankings are based on the feedback and reviews of current and former employees, who rate their company along a five-point scale. The best companies are ranked based on the overall rating they achieved in the past year.

Softcat ranked fifth in the UK-based list, holding the same place in the ranking as last year. The list is dominated by multinational companies; Salesforce, Microsoft, Cambridge-headquartered Abcam and Google round out the top five best workplaces in the nation.

"I'm delighted that our people have rated Softcat as one of the best places to work and I'm proud that we have a culture in which our employees can grow and thrive," stated Rebecca Monk, HR director at Softcat.

"As a company, we have all pulled together during the challenges of the last 12 months without furloughing anyone. In fact, quite the opposite, we are still growing and hiring new people every day and have grown headcount by over 100 people since the start of our new fiscal year in August 2020."

Apple, SAP and Facebook all appear in the top 10. Sage and ARM make their debuts on the list, ranking 16 and 41, respectively. Dell takes 28 on the list Cisco comes in at 44.

Softcat is the only reseller in the list with Capgemini Invent - the SI's consulting and transformation unit - ranking at 33.

Glassdoor CEO Christian Sutherland-Wong said: "COVID-19 is in the driver's seat and every employer has been impacted. This year's winning employers have proven, according to employees, that even during extraordinary times they'll rise to the challenge to support their people.

"A mission-driven culture, transparent leadership and career opportunities are always hallmarks of Best Places to Work winners. This year, we also see exceptional employers who have prioritised the health, safety and well-being of their employees."
