FireEye names its new EMEA channel boss

US security vendor unveils Luca Brandi as head of its EMEA channel business

FireEye has announced that Luca Brandi has been appointed as its new EMEA channel director.

The US security vendor says Brandi has been promoted from his former role managing its southern Europe channel.

Commenting on his promotion, Brandi said he'll be focusing on helping partners with their hunt for skilled talent.

"While the channel has experienced many recent changes, the need to help organisations tackle challenges associated with having a limited number of cybersecurity professionals or sprawling resources remains universal," he said.

"Together with our partners, it is my primary objective to help customers make their existing security teams more productive with better tools, extend their teams with managed services and moving away from arbitrary security program success metrics."

Brandi has been in the channel for more than 30 years and was formerly distribution and SMB sales director For Symantec's southern region, and previously spent six years at Ingram Micro Italy.

This week, FireEye also introduced a new EVP of products, Bryan Palma.

The vendor's leadership shuffle comes two months after it fell afoul of what it called a "state-sponsored" cyberattack.

However, it didn't stop the company from reporting a record Q4 yesterday, with CEO Kevin Mandia saying he sees the potential for FireEye's first $1bn-revenue year in 2021.

Q4 FY 2020 sales were up five per cent year on year to $248m.
