UK MSP Claranet to pour $100m investment into Brazilian business
UK partner has ambitions to become leading cloud services provider in Brazil
UK-based MSP Claranet says it plans to splash $100m on expanding its Brazilian operations.
Claranet Brazil CEO Edivaldo Rocha said the funds will be used to help the partner to become "the leading cloud services provider in Brazil".
"The investment of up to $100m has the objective of making Brazil's operation one of the largest hybrid cloud and cybersecurity players in the market, focusing on services with high growth potential and aligned with the digitalisation challenges of medium-sized companies," he said.
He added that his expansion strategy is based on three fronts: accelerated organic growth, investment in internal efficiencies, and the acquisition of other companies in the country's managed services market.
Rocha claims Claranet Brazil has grown 37 per cent year on year for the past five years.
It has a team of more than 200 staff in-country, but plans to more than double that to 500 by the end of this year.
Since 2012, the cloud managed services firm has made 28 acquisitions globally. However, it says that its Iberian and LatAm regions are now its "focus markets for the future growth of the group".
Claranet first entered the Brazilian and Latin American market in 2017, buying out AWS MSP CredibiliT Tecnologia.
Then in August, last year, Claranet also acquired Brazilian MSP CorpFlex, for an undisclosed amount.
Based in Sao Paulo, where Claranet Brazil is headquartered, CorpFlex focused on private cloud solutions particularly around capabilities in cybersecurity, data management and networking.
Claranet Group is active in ten countries with a headcount of 2,500 in 24 offices worldwide.
