Global reseller's public sector unit reports record $3bn in sales for the first time

SHI International has seen its sales top $11bn for the first time in a fiscal year in itds full-year 2020.

The US firm reported a four per cent year-on-year rise in revenues to $11.1bn for the year.

The firm attributed this "record-breaking" result to growth in its public sector division, which reported a turnover of $3bn for the first time, marking a 16 per cent jump from the previous year. It now ranks alongside SHI divisions Enterprise/Global and Commerical as a $3bn businesses for the reseller.

"For all the reasons that require no explanation, the past 12 months represent one of the most challenging professional years most of us will ever face," stated Thai Lee, SHI CEO.

"Yet throughout 2020, from our essential onsite employees to those balancing increased responsibilities and decreased bandwidth at home, our dedicated employees went above and beyond to provide customers world-class service when they most needed it.

"As we step into 2021 optimistic that the light at the end of the tunnel is within reach, we're already seeing positive signs of a return to mid-market growth, powered by businesses reinvesting in IT. We continue to stand ready to help our customers meet uncertainty with hybrid workforce strategies and supporting technologies that bring them closer to their goals."

Top partners who saw the most annual revenue growth were Dell and Amazon, who saw sales rise 30 per cent and 13 per cent, respectively. Microsoft, HP, Cisco, VMware, Adobe, Lenovo, Apple and HPE rounded out the reseller's top 10 partners this year.
