North hires former Allvotec boss Comerford as new COO
Latest addition to the executive board previously worked with CEO Williams at Damovo
MSP North has appointed former Damovo exec Paul Comerford as its chief operating officer.
North is an amalgamation of a number of MSPs - Boston Networks, Pinacl, PEL Services and 2020 Vision Systems - and owned by private equity firm Aliter Capital. It provides integrated technology solutions, with a focus on internet of things.
Comerford joins North from Daisy spin-out Allvotec where he also served as COO. He previously held a top role at unified comms VAR Damovo.
The announcement comes as the COO's former colleague Glen Williams was appointed CEO of North at the beginning of the year. He previously led Allvotec as CEO and was also the boss of Damovo before the business was sold by Daisy founder Matt Riley and investor Oakley Capital.
"Paul's appointment to our team evidences our commitment to building a robust, forward-looking senior leadership team that can help drive and execute our strategy," stated Williams.
"Paul is a commercial and operationally focused executive leader, with decades of experience delivering change for ICT organisations. This expertise, coupled with his collaborative and flexible management style will add real value to our business."
Comerford has over three decades of experience in the channel, having also worked at Unisys and BT. His new role at North will make him responsible for integrating service delivery, operations and project delivery.
Comerford said of his appointment: "The market opportunity for North is vast. The business already benefits from a strong reputation, an experienced team and a clear plan to tap into existing and new markets such as IoT and 5G.
"It's a great time to be joining the business and I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues to transform North into an unrivalled end-to-end managed service provider."
Williams previously spoke with CRN about his growth plans strategy for North.
