Riverbed appoints new EMEA channel boss

Vendor says promotion of Brecht Seurinck to VP channel sales in Europe, Middle East and Africa is immediate

Riverbed has today announced the promotion of Brecht Seurinck to VP channel sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The vendor said one of Seurinck's top responsibilities will be driving partner engagement in relation to its alliance partnership with Microsoft.

"Seurinck will also have the responsibility to lead Riverbed's continued focus on Service Providers, System Integrators and Alliances in EMEA this year, particularly strengthening the long-time strategic partnership with Microsoft," said SVP EMEA Elie Dib.

Seurinck will also lead a new EMEA initiative for the vendor: a centralised Inside Sales Representative function.

"This team will work very closely with our distributors and partners to drive new business opportunities in the market." Dib added.

Seurinck is an inside hire having been with Riverbed for six years.

Before this promotion he was president of Riverbed's NTT alliance group business.

Based in Belgium, he has also formerly held senior channel leadership positions in Ipanema Technologies and Vanco Belux.

Communing on his new role, said he wants to "create new revenue opportunities" for the vendor's more than 1,000 active partners worldwide.

"The pandemic triggered a significant uptake in application acceleration and network performance management solutions that keep remote workers productive and networks running and secure as organisations shift toward hybrid and work-from-anywhere models," he said.

"This represents a huge opportunity for our partner community.

"Our partnerships are built on relationships and trust, which I believe are key for success, along with the combination of strong customer intimacy and business development.

"I look forward to working with our experienced team and our great partners to deliver compelling solutions to our customers, and to capitalize on the market opportunity and drive long-term success."
