RM CFO takes on chief exec mantle

Neil Martin to take over form long-standing incumbent David Brooks

RM has finally found CEO David Brooks' successor in the form of its CFO Neil Martin.

Brooks announced in September that he is departing the education specialist after 25 years to take his career "in a different direction".

His replacement, Martin, has been RM's CFO for the past five years and will become chief exec from 1 March.

"As CFO, Neil has been much involved in the changes in the company in the past several years, and the responses to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Board welcomes his appointment to the role," RM wrote in a note to the London Stock Exchange.

RM has appointed Mark Berry as interim CFO while it seeks Martin's permanent replacement. Berry has served as CFO at Foxtons and previous to that spent 15 years at Hays in a number of senior financial roles.

RM recently reported its most recent financial year, seeing revenue drop 16 per cent to £189m due to cancelled exams and rolling school closures.
