Pure Technology Group targets 40 per cent female staff

Leeds-based reseller aims for gender parity longer term as it pursues more gender-balanced workforce

Leeds-based reseller Pure Technology Group is targeting 40 per cent of its staff being female by 2024.

The £40m-revenue HP, HPE and Lenovo partner is ultimately aiming for a 50-50 gender split - up from its current 74-26 ratio - as it pursues the benefits that come with having a more diverse workforce.

Talking to CRN, COO Cliff Fox said Pure originally set the goal last year but has reiterated it following the unusual events of the last 12 months.

"Although there have been other priorities with lockdown and everything that's gone on, it's still a committed aim of ours to get from 26 to 40 per cent within the next three years," he said.

Fox said Pure is targeting an increase in female staff across its entire business, including technical positions.

"It's not just soft skills - admin, commercial, project management - we're also working on female engineers," he said.

"Some of the women that work with us are the highest earners and highest performers, and are represented at board level through to senior management. Sometimes you get a different perspective from women than from men, which sounds sexist but in our experience is true."

Pure's current 26 per cent female staff ratio is bang in line with the wider UK reseller/MSP market, according to gender pay gap data CRN analysed last year.
