Sabio bets on AI chatbot tech with Fonetic acquisition
‘Every customer interaction will soon be fronted by AI’ claims Sabio CEO following acquisition of Spanish chatbot provider
Comms specialist Sabio has acquired Spanish voicebot specialist Fonetic as it places its bets on the future of AI-powered chat bots.
Founded in 2006 and based in Madrid, Fonetic bills itself as a voicebot and chatbot specialist provider and claims that 38 out of its 49-strong workforce are developers and linguists.
The firm says it manages, processes and monitors more than 200 million interactions per year for clients including Santander, Axa, Endesa and Vodafone.
The acquisition will strengthen Sabio's AI and automation solutions offering and enables the company to support its customers with customer experience solutions.
Sabio's CEO, Jonathan Gale, said that he expects every customer interaction will soon be fronted by AI "in some shape or form" and will transform the customer experience.
"With its proven voicebot, chatbot, customer behaviour analytics and visualisation capabilities, Fonetic directly addresses this challenge. The company not only brings an incredibly talented team but valuable expertise in CX digital transactions that will be an important addition to Sabio's own IP portfolio," Gale said.
Fonetic's CEO and founder, Juan Manuel Soto, added: "At Fonetic we can demonstrate how our voicebots and chatbots perform at scale. This helps our clients to digitally transform their customer engagement by increasing CX efficiencies while also securing significant increases in customer satisfaction.
"As part of the Sabio Group we can bring our voicebot and chatbot offering to a much broader market, especially as AI and automation adoption within the CX sector is set to accelerate exponentially."
The Fonetic deal marks the second announced by Sabio in the space of a week. The firm acquired a top UK Salesforce partner makepositive on 8 March adding to its flurry of acquisitions in 2020.
Ranked #47 in CRN's VAR 350 report, Sabio logged £89.2m revenues in its last financial year. The firm is backed by Horizon Capital
