Bechtle launches new service for smartphones and tablets

German VAR expands its offering with introduction of fixed monthly fee service

Bechtle has announced the launch of a brand-new service for smartphones and tablets called DAAS (device as-a-service) mobile.

DAAS Mobile will offer a full solution to clients including hardware, accessories and services for a fixed monthly fee.

It was first launched in the Netherlands but will be available in the UK and several other European countries from 30 April.

"Smartphones and tablets are becoming indispensable means of communication in the workplace, especially now that we are increasingly working from any place, anywhere, at any time," the company said in a statement.

"Organisations need to adopt a central policy for this. In practice, however, we see that this is not always well arranged.

"Bechtle ensures companies that private and business data remains separate and that all company-specific information is secure when using DAAS Mobile. When you receive your phone or tablet, it will be all pre-set up."

The service also includes automatic software updates along with end user support in case of any problems.

As well as costs for the hardware, the fixed monthly fee also includes IT lifecycle services such as swap, data wiping, reverse services and desk to desk support, with devices delivered ready to use.

"There are various bundles of hardware (smartphones and tablets), accessories and IT lifecycle services available, so that every worker will get exactly what they like, want and need," the company added.

"Whether they choose to work with a tablet or mobile phone, it's all up to them. This will lead to an efficient workflow and more happy faces."

The company has also recently announced the opening of its new, eco-friendly office in Chippenham.
