Former Sage CEO among two new non-exec directors appointed at Digital Wholesale Solutions

Daisy spin-off says the appointments ‘underline its ambition’

Digital Wholesale Solutions (DWS) has appointed two new non-execs as it looks to become the UK channel's leading technology platform.

Former Sage CEO Paul Walker and Deloitte's ex-senior audit partner Damian Sanders both join the company as non-executive directors, which DWS says "underlines its ambition" to grow.

Walker said: "Terry (O'Brien) and his team have built a strong business with an infectious energy and a fabulous culture.

"The market opportunity ahead is tremendous, and I am looking forward to helping guide the business to the success it deserves."

As CEO at Sage Group, Walker was one of the longest standing CEOs of a FTSE 100 company, with DWS claiming his experience in leading a software brand will be "invaluable" as it pursues its own software strategy.

He is currently non-executive chairman of Halma Plc and non-executive chairman of Ashtead Group and has also previously served on the boards of Diageo and Mytravel, Experian and Sophos.

Up until recently, Sanders was a senior audit partner at Deloitte and was also a member of the company's North-West Leadership Team.

He is an FCA member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has acted as an advisor and a corporate governance specialist to a number of FTSE Boards for over 20 years, being appointed as independent non-executive director for global technology platform, The Hut Group (THG Holdings Plc), and global cinema business, Cineworld Plc, in 2020.

"The ambition and entrepreneurship of DWS is impressive and I aim to bring my experience to bear to help the team create the framework to underpin the continuation of its impressive growth trajectory," Sanders said.
