IBM spin-off Kyndryl appoints UK and Ireland president

IBM spin-off confirms makeup of its new leadership teams

Kyndryl, the independent public company that will be created following the separation of IBM's managed infrastructure services business, has announced the makeup of its new leadership team.

Tosca Colangeli has been named as Kyndryl's new president for the UK and Ireland, having been IBM's Global Technology Services general manager for the UK and Ireland for the past five years, according to her LinkedIn page.

Her profile also states that she is vice president of IBM's Systems and Technology Group for the UK and Ireland, as well as vice president of the vendor's Computer Services Industry for UK&I, having been at the company for over 25 years.

"Kyndryl is meeting customers where they are on their digital transformation journeys, with a lean and focused team that has the critical skills they depend on to succeed," said Martin Schroeter, chief executive officer of Kyndryl.

"Our country leaders and managing partners will be empowered to work closely with customers, make quick decisions and access the best global talent in the industry. Their mission will be to place Kyndryl at the heart of progress for our customers."

Meanwhile, Matt Milton has been appointed as president of Kyndryl United States, with Philippe Roncati set to lead Kyndryl France.

Paolo Degl'Innocenti will act as president of Kyndryl Italy with Luis Roca Fernandez and Markus Koerner named as president of Kyndryl Spain and Portugal and president of Kyndryl Germany respectively.

Kyndryl has announced that it will create six global managed services practices which are cloud, security and resiliency, core enterprise and zCloud, network and edge, digital workplace and applications, data and AI.

It has also launched its Kyndryl advisory and implementation services practice, which will include a group of senior business and technology executives who can advise Kyndryl customers on "best-in-class digital environments and the adoption and integration of advanced technologies".

Making up the senior leadership team alongside CEO Schroeter includes Kyndryl group president Elly Keinan, strategic markets president Rick Ruiz, chief technology officer Antoine Shagoury and many others.

"We are fortunate as a 90,000-person 'startup' to have extraordinary global talent, from IBM fellows and distinguished engineers to experts at service delivery centres, working with deep skills and more than 3,000 patents that help innovate with our customers," Schroeter added.

"Over time, we'll be showing all Kyndryls how they contribute to advancing the vital systems that our customers depend on."
