Forcepoint closes acquisition of UK cybersecurity firm

Security vendor announced acquisition of Deep Secure in June

Forcepoint has closed its acquisition of UK cybersecurity vendor Deep Secure as it integrates its technology into its own Cross Domain Solutions portfolio.

First announced in June, Forcepoint claims its acquisition of Deep Secure will bring "defence grade" content, disarm and reconstruction (CDR) technology into Forcepoint's own offering.

The UK vendor, based in Malvern in Worcestershire, claims to protect organisations from malware attacks through its CDR technology and Threat Removal Platform.

CDR protects businesses by deconstructing and disarming commonly-used files, including Microsoft Office, PDFs and images and rebuilding them as new "sanitised" files and removing the malicious content.

In a blog post, Forcepoint's CTO George Kamis said the acquisition will bolster its own SASE and Zero Trust portfolios.

The firm has a strong presence in the UK, which will also help support its EMEA and NATO organisations.

"Together with Deep Secure, our capabilities will also help civilian, intelligence and military agencies achieve the Biden Administration's goal to "identify, deter, protect, and respond" to cyber threats. The Administration has made cybersecurity a focus of their agenda, particularly in light of the recent spate of data breaches," he said.
