Pax8's integrated Resello cloud platform now ready for UK MSPs

Less than a month after acquiring the Dutch distributor, the integrated cloud marketplace is now ready for MSPs to start transacting

Pax8 has unveiled its newly integrated Resello platform, which it says will offer a "new and better way for partners to sell cloud services" across its global footprint.

The US cloud marketplace expanded into more than 40 countries following its Dutch distributor acquisition of Resello last month.

Just 29 days later, Resello MD Harald Nuij said the company is now ready to onboard new MSPs onto the multi-vendor technology cloud marketplace, and also to support them in multiple languages.

"I think it's important to underline that over the last month, we've been able to really train the team here and make sure that the platform is integrated in the best way for MSPs," he said.

Partners face no minimum quotas to start going to market with the platform, which provides multi-tenant, multi-product delivery of cloud solutions and services.

"We're inviting all MSPs to go to Pax8.eu as of now, where they can sign up. And it's important to stress again that there are no minimum requirements whatsoever for MSPs before they can start transacting and receiving proper support on their cloud journey."

Cloud marketplace Pax8 first landed in EMEA at the start of this year by acquiring UK-HQ Microsoft partner Wirehive.

Its rapid expansion across Europe with the addition of Resello has been coupled with a bullish approach to its competitive landscape.

Pax8's chief revenue officer Nick Heddy recently told CPI that traditional distribution is "broken" and not fit to reflect how many partners and end-users are now choosing to procure cloud.

Procuring cloud: from "handyman" to "architect"

He said that this "mismatch" is opening up huge opportunities for growth for Pax8 partners who can show customers a less complex way of procuring cloud.

"We're seeing studies that are suggesting SMBs are consuming between seven and eleven SAS vendors, and that onboarding experience in the past has been a painfully manual one," he said.

"Currently, some buy from distribution, some buy direct from vendors, others have cloud procurement as part of their RMM solution. And so you may have to log into a dozen portals to enable that stack."

In terms of engaging with MSPs, Heddy said that Pax8 refers to this as encouraging a partner to transition from "handyman work" to being "builders" or "architects.

"With Pax8, you can design a pure cloud play that enables secure remote work in a collaborative fashion that enables tasks that used to take half a day or a full day to be done in 20 minutes."

He added: "By automating the handyman components of SaaS, we're allowing partners to focus their business on growth and the digital transformation of their end users."

While the platform has been fully integrated with both company's solutions. Resello MD Harald Nuij said the work of moving the existing 600 Resello partners onto Pax8's platform partner program will take place over the coming months.

"I'd say it's a clear target for us for over the next six to nine months," he said.

"We'll make this transition very meticulously, and make sure that we support them every step of the way.

"Part of that is we intend to offer localised support in more regions than we are doing today. And this would also include adding new people teams in new language areas as well."

Pax8 and Resello's marketplace is currently available in 16 languages. Nuij said that the company intends to match that in its support team for MSPs.

Resello is HQ in the Netherlands, and also operates a datacentre in Frankfurt, Germany.

Pax8's EMEA HQ continues to be in the UK.
