Infosec Europe to scrap Olympia for ExCeL for 2022 return

Delayed event will move from West to East London as organisers look to ‘evolve and grow’ the cybersecurity conference

Infosec Europe will move location for its return next year trading its long-time home in west London's Kensington Olympia for east London's ExCeL.

ExCeL London, which boasts a 100,000 square-metre events space, will enable Infosec's organisers Reed Exhibitions to "evolve and grow" the conference.

The venue has played host to other tech events in the industry's calendar including AWS' London Summit and education fair Bett.

Reed Exhibitions claims Infosec Europe will make its debut at ExCeL London 21 to 23 June.

It added that the on-site restaurants and bars at the centre, which run 24-hours, and the general regeneration of the Royal Victoria Dock area will open up "numerous options" for after-hours networking events as part of Infosec Europe's return.

"Our fantastic partnership with London Olympia has played an integral part in our journey to become Europe's premier information security event, and its largest community of cybersecurity professionals. In that time the importance of information security across every facet of society and business has increased enormously, and ExCeL London offers us the perfect platform for the next stage in our development," said exhibition director for the Infosecurity Group, Nicole Mills.

"Working with ExCeL will enable us to continually evolve our offer based on customer needs, equipping professionals with the skills and knowledge to meet future challenges, whatever they may be, as well as providing unparalleled opportunities for the exciting businesses within the sector to grow."

Infosec Europe, which attracts around 20,000 attendees each year, was originally slated to go ahead as an in-person event in July. Organisers were forced to convert it into a virtual-only event after the UK government delayed lifting Covid restrictions from 21 June to 19 July.
