Claranet among first AWS partners to achieve new MSSP competency
Global technology provider 'proud' to be inaugural launch partner, says UK security services director
Global technology provider Claranet has announced that it has achieved Amazon Web Services' newly launched Level 1 Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) Competency status.
AWS bills the Level 1 MSSP Competency as a "baseline standard of quality" for customers, including startups, SMBs and global enterprises, to refer to when choosing an MSSP.
"Claranet is proud to be an inaugural launch partner and one of the few AWS partners globally to have achieved AWS Level 1 MSSP Competency status," said Dave Ashton, UK security services director.
"We are committed to providing our customers with security services that address all challenges and avoids fragmented technology choices.
"Enabling AWS Services securely allows our customers to focus on their business knowing that our specialists are looking after the security of their organisation, data, and customers."
The Level 1 MSSP Competency spans six security domains: vulnerability management, cloud security best practices and compliance, threat detection and response, network security, host and endpoint security, and application security.
The six domains each hold multiple MSSP services which address specific security challenges by harnessing the native capabilities of AWS.
Ryan Orsi, WW Security/MSSP Practice Team Lead at AWS, said: "We introduced the AWS Level 1 MSSP Competency to benchmark managed security providers and make it easier for our customers to select a partner.
"We are pleased to welcome Claranet as a UK AWS Level 1 MSSP Competency Partner. Claranet is now able to demonstrate that their high standards for security can be trusted by our customers."
