Softcat lands top spot in Glassdoor's best UK employers for work-life balance
Tech companies including Dell, Sage, SAP and ARM also score in top 10 of rankings
Softcat has been awarded a top spot in Glassdoor's best companies for work-life balance rankings with tech vendors including Dell, ARM, Sage and SAP also making the list.
Marlow-based reseller Softcat was awarded the number two spot in Glassdoor's rankings.
It was beaten to the number one spot only by the Office of National Statistics (ONS).
Tech vendors ranked highly on the list - chip maker ARM ranked number three, Dell Technologies came in at number seven, Sage at number nine and SAP at number 10.
Cisco (ranked 14), Google (ranked 15) and Salesforce (ranked 18) all made it into the top 20.
The jobs website claims that it analysed more than 600,000 one-to-five-star reviews posted by full-time employees based in the UK between the start of the year and September 2021.
Glassdoor also scanned reviews for keywords such as "mental health" and "wellbeing".
Softcat received praise from employees for its "people-first" culture, its flexibility around start and finish times as well as for school pick up and drop offs.
Softcat's HR director, Rebecca Monk, said: "At Softcat we recognise that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work is different for everyone too. We are absolutely delighted that feedback from our very own people, alongside former employees, has helped us gain this recognition. We have a unique and inclusive culture and helping our Softcatters maintain their work-life balance is a big part of that."
"Employee reviews on Glassdoor indicate that the companies that top the work-life balance rankings offer a range of options to help workers harmonize their home and professional lives" said Lauren Thomas, economist at Glassdoor.
"Whether it is the autonomy to set one's schedule, hybrid working policies or simply trust shown by management that work will be delivered without being tied to an office, it is clear that a healthy balance is best achieved when employees can individualise their approach to work."
