Comms provider Babble has made two further acquisitions by adding Digital Communications Systems Ltd (DCS) and Halo Communications Ltd to its business.

The double acquisition follows that of Scottish telecoms firm 8020 last month, while Babble also expanded in the north-west and south coast of England recently by making the double acquisition of communications solutions providers 5 Rings and Concert.

Babble has now completed nine acquisitions over the past year and claims its bookings have increased by 90 per cent from 2020.

Matthew Parker, chief executive of Babble, said: "In recent months we've focused our growth towards the north of England and Scotland.

"There is outstanding technology talent in these regions, and in Halo Communications and DCS we've acquired two business that align perfectly with our goals and ambitions.

"We're looking forward to the road ahead, delivering transformational change to even more highly valued customers."

Halo Communications offers voice, data and IT services to small and medium businesses across the UK from its office based in Kilmarnock and partners with the likes of Dell, Microsoft, Samsung and Mitel.

Newcastle-based DCS is a provider of managed networked services including cabling and voice data networks and "will further develop Babble's presence in the north-east of England", it claims.

Babble says it now has over 4,000 customers with more than 200 staff located nationwide.

Brendan Mulvenna, managing director of DCS, said: "I'm thrilled with the position that DCS has reached since forming in 1992.

"The acquisition by Babble is an exciting next step for the business and I look forward to playing my part in Babble's ambitious plans to be a leading player in the north-east."

And Allan Moffat, managing director of Halo Communications Ltd, said: "Becoming a part of a likeminded, exciting, innovative company such as Babble is a fantastic milestone in our journey.

"I look forward to adding my expertise and local knowledge to Babble's range of industry-leading talent."
