CDW UK to use HPE GreenLake for cloud and desktop-as-a-service offerings

CDW UK has announced that it will implement HPE GreenLake into its own cloud and desktop-as-a-service offerings.

HPE's GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform will allow CDW's cloud suite of products - ServiceWorks - to "meet increasing demand, accelerate deployment of new services and improve overall customer experience for its desktop-as-a-service platform", CDW says.

"We were looking for a solution that would quickly scale performance and capacity to meet our customers' business demands," said Chris Lillie, head of cloud operations at CDW UK.

"HPE GreenLake does just that, delivering the necessary flexibility and reliability across our cloud and desktop-as-a-service solutions."

CDW says the move was driven by its aim of making its ServiceWorks offering more flexible and to scale up its desktop-as-a-service solution following increased demand driven by the pandemic as remote working became more popular.

The reseller also adds that it will now no longer have to list hardware as an annual capital expense or hold a buffer capacity for emergency use "to meet unexpected customer demand".

"Our collaboration with CDW further enhances our global partner ecosystem for HPE GreenLake and provides customers with more choices for their different applications and workloads," said Sue Preston, vice-president and general manager, HPE Pointnext and HPE GreenLake, UK, Ireland, Middle East and South Africa.
