Channel firms embarking on becoming more sustainable should look to appoint a sustainability champion, according to the sustainability lead of an office-less reseller that was recently certified as carbon-neutral.

Highgate IT Solutions earned Carbon Neutral Plus status in February after measuring and offsetting its scope 1 and 2 emissions.

Talking to CRN ahead of the relaunch of CRN Tech Impact, Highgate sustainability lead Jenny Latimer had the following advice for other resellers and MSPs looking to become more sustainable.

"One of the best things you can do is find someone in your organisation who is passionate about this subject - someone that can channel that enthusiasm into your sustainability strategy. That person will be the driving force behind the success of the project, and will really be able to make a difference. They can champion the change; they can get buy in from the rest of your workforce," she said.

"I do truly believe that regardless of size, every organisation has the chance to make a difference. It's just about taking that first step."
