Channel market research firm announces the addition of McBain to lead its North American research program

Jay McBain joins Canalys as chief analyst

Former Forrester lead global analyst Jay McBain has confirmed he has left the US firm to join rival Canalys.

The channel guru will be Canalys' chief analyst and lead its North America Research Program, while participating in wider worldwide research.

"There is no doubt that Jay is both a thought leader and challenger in the field of channels and ecosystems," said Canalys VP Channels Alex Smith.

"We are delighted to have Jay join our growing team of analysts across the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe."

In a post on LinkedIn, McBain shared the news.

McBain has held previous channel roles in sales, marketing and strategy with IBM, Lenovo and ChannelEyes.

Most recently, Jay served as principal analyst for global channels, partnerships and ecosystems at Forrester.
