Liverpool MSP SysGroup expands in the South West with Orchard Computers acquisition
MSP makes its second acquisition in a month through buyout of £2.1m-revenue firm
Liverpool-based MSP SysGroup has expanded its presence in the South West of England through its acquisition of Orchard Computers.
Based on the outskirts of Bristol, Orchard Computers is a Silver-level Microsoft partner as well as an HP and Dell partner.
Founded in 1990 by current managing director Ian Terry, the MSP offers systems and infrastructure services, private cloud, backup and disaster recovery and communications services.
Terry and Orchard Computers director Chris Patten will remain with SysGroup to assist in handing over customer relationships and integrating the business into the group.
The acquisition, which was funded through its existing cash resources, will add a headcount of 20 to SysGroup and compliment its existing presence in South Wales.
Orchard Computers turned over $2.1m in 2021 and sold to 120 active clients across the South West that year in both the public and private sectors.
Adam Binks, CEO of SysGroup, said: "I am thrilled to be announcing our second acquisition of the financial year. Orchard is a well-established, well-respected business with a loyal customer base in the South West of England and I am delighted that we have been able to bring this business into the group.
"Our enhanced presence in the region will add even more value for the combined customer base and will create a raft of opportunity for all of our team members, including the addition of our 20 new colleagues from Orchard."
The deal is SysGroup's second acquisition this month after the MSP snapped up Edinburgh-based MSP Truststream earlier in April for up to £7.9m.
Truststream has revenues of £3.2m for its year ending 30 September 2021.
