Daisy appoints new Group CEO
CFO Neil Thompson takes chief exec position
Daisy has appointed its CFO Neil Thompson as its new CEO as the IT services firm enters its "next phase of growth".
Thompson joined Daisy as CFO in 2021 from a previous position as CFO of Manchester Airport Group where he spent more than 15 years.
The new CEO has been working with Daisy's founder and chairman Matthew Riley in leading a "strategic review" of the business and chart its next phase of growth, Daisy claims.
Daisy claims Thompson has a wealth of experience in delivering growth across executive teams and industry sectors in both public and privately-owned businesses.
The cloud and comms reseller claims it continues to be financially strong, reporting revenues of more than £350m and an EBITDA of £70m in its last financial year.
Matthew Riley said: "We're delighted to appoint Neil as CEO as Daisy embarks on the next stage of its growth journey.
"Daisy is really well positioned to continue to grow and enable smarter IT, comms and cloud solutions for businesses across the UK."
Neil Thompson added: "I'm thrilled to be appointed as CEO working with Matthew Riley, ARES, Oakley Capital, and everyone within the Daisy Group on its next phase of growth. It's an exciting time for the technology sector and there are significant growth opportunities. I'm really looking forward to leading the team, as we take Daisy to the next level building upon its strong platform as a UK market leader."
Daisy went through an 18-month demerger across 2019 and 2020 which saw its three channel businesses, Daisy Wholesale, Daisy Distribution and Daisy Worldwide, merge under a single brand called Digital Wholesale Solutions.
It also span out Daisy Partner Services business as an independent company called Allvotec.
Daisy has hit the M&A trail since the demerger completed, snapping up Kent-based telecoms services firm Premier Choice Telecom in August 2021 and business broadband provider XLN Group in February.
