Park Place Technologies cuts ribbon on new Ireland office
Opening of support and operations centre in Blarney, near Cork will be followed by employee expansion in Ireland
Park Place Technologies has cut the ribbon on a new location in Ireland as the third-party services firm expects further investment and headcount growth in the country.
The support and operations centre in Blarney Business Park sits 6km north of Cork's city centre. The 24,500 square-feet facility will be used as a meeting space for clients and channel partners and providing support to customers globally.
Park Place claims that it is filling roles through recruiting locally to fill engineering and technology positions including support centre representatives, advanced engineering technical support and buyer planners.
The facility has space for further expansion and represents a "direct investment in Ireland".
Park Place managing director for EMEA & APAC, Ian Shearer, said: "Park Place Technologies opened its first office in Cork in 2018. Our growth, commitment to the people of Ireland, and investment in local Irish communities through our STEM philanthropy has been consistent, dedicated and a tremendous addition to Cork's tech presence. Ireland is a prime destination from which to serve our European and global customer base."
"US companies have invested literally trillions of dollars in Ireland in the past few years," added Chris Adams, Park Place President and CEO. "Park Place represents a modest slice of that for Ireland, but Ireland represents a major piece of our global investment in customer and employee experience."
"Park Place does not want to be viewed as another U.S. business setting up shop for itself. We do things differently when we invest in a community, and we want to prove ourselves as a part of the lives of the people of County Cork."
Park Place has been on an aggressive growth path over the last few years. It acquired £50m-revenue outfit MCSA in 2019 and then became the world's largest third-party datacentre maintenance firm in 2020 through its acquisition of Curvature which boosted its headcount to 2,000 globally.
