Paul Bolt joins Microsoft partner to evolve firm to ‘next level’

Microsoft's former UK chief marketing officer has joined Transparity in a newly created position as managing director.

Paul Bolt, who spent four years as CMO of Microsoft's UK arm, joins Transparity in a new board-level position.

He will support Transparity CEO David Jobbins in taking the business to "the next level" to achieve its ultimate goal of becoming "the most respected Microsoft partner".

Transparity claims to be one of the UK's top Microsoft partners, with 16 Gold-level Microsoft accreditations, 10 Advanced Specialisations and Azure Expert MSP status.

The Dorset-based firm has 200 staff, bolstered by its acquisition of Microsoft application specialist Ballard Chalmers in December.

Backed by Beech Tree Private Equity, at the time Transparity said it wanted to double its headcount to 300 over the next two years through organic growth and acquisitions.

"I am absolutely delighted to be joining Transparity and the opportunity it presents - to help lead this amazing business through its next wave of growth. I have always been impressed by the team here, what they are striving to achieve and the acute understanding that their culture is a key differentiator," said Bolt.

"When I was asked if I wanted to open conversations about a role here, it was a resounding ‘yes' from me and that's from someone who knew it would take a unique opportunity to leave an amazing business and role in the shape of CMO at Microsoft.

"I cannot wait to get started so we can take advantage of a market rich in digital transformation opportunities, deliver amazing customer outcomes and ensure we retain and build on what makes Transparity special."

Jobbins added: "I'm delighted to be welcoming Paul to the Transparity family. His experience in our industry, from partners to Microsoft will add significant value to the growth of our business. More importantly, as a culture-led business, his principles are in line with ours and will no doubt help us develop and grow our team to new heights.

"As co-founder of Transparity, I am incredibly proud of how far we have reached in a short space of time and take hiring such a role incredibly seriously. However, this decision has been such an easy and natural choice for us to continue our rocket-like growth. A huge welcome awaits you, Paul!"
