Zoom targets further channel push with appointment of new global channel chief
Todd Surdey takes on the role of head of global channels and business development
Zoom has named former Google, Palo Alto Networks and VMware exec Todd Surdey as its new global channel boss.
Surdey takes over the role of head of global channels and business development following the departure of Laura Padilla, who left the company in May to take on a new role as vice president of partners for Airtable.
He joins having most recently worked at Google, where he served as the company's vice president of global security sales.
"I am thrilled to join Zoom as we continue to expand our channel ecosystem and work tirelessly to ensure partner happiness and our joint success," Surdey said.
"I look forward to continue building on current momentum and focusing on providing partners the support and resources necessary enabling them to grow, sell and transact more easily with Zoom."
Prior to working at Google, Surdey held a number of roles at Palo Alto including as CRO of the company's Cortex business.
He has also been SVP of sales HANA enterprise cloud for North America at SAP, SVP of platform sales at Salesforce and held a number of roles at VMware including as co-channel chief and VP of strategic alliances and emerging partners.
Zoom has continued its push towards partner sales of late and told CRN US in March that it is now doing about 25 percent of its business through the channel.
