'It would be silly not to' - Robertson Sumner launches new division specialising in technical hires
The channel and technology recruitment company is making the move to bring more talent to the market
Robertson Sumner is launching a new division specialising in technical hires amid the demand for vacancies "surging".
The Gerrards Cross-based channel and technology recruitment company is making the move to bring more talent to the market after receiving multiple enquiries about technical roles.
CEO Marc Sumner says it would be "silly" for the company not to invest in the area with there being "shortages" in the market.
"The demand of vacancies for technical staff is just surging still," he told CRN.
"No one can get enough technical talent into their business, so everyone is looking.
"We've had a phenomenal year in terms of growth and numbers, and with our recent office expansion we were looking at ways we can help our customers even more into 2023 and beyond.
"We have ‘dabbled' with the odd technical role in the past, but we normally say no. But with the sheer number of enquires it seem silly not to invest in this area."
The company has promoted Mark Reddy to run the division and help technology businesses with their technical hires.
The role will see Reddy, who joined the company in 2016, bring on new and experienced recruiters to help with the demand.
He said: "Our vision has always been clear, we want to be the IT channel's go to partner for attracting talent.
"Building a technical division is the natural evolution for the business to meet the demand from our clients. I want to scale this quickly, however, it won't be to the detriment to any of our customers; delivering the best service and the best talent is the ultimate priority."
Robertson Sumner plans to offer these services to its existing client base first and then roll out to new clients throughout Europe as the team builds.
Sumner added: "I just think it's now an opportunity for us to really expand and offer this service to our existing customers and new customers for technical capabilities.
"We're going to really go full steam ahead and that's hopefully going to benefit the channel because we're very well known in that channel market."
