HP unveils new ink service for small businesses

HP has unveiled a new 'Instant Ink' service for small businesses, which it claims will mean less packaging, fewer shipments and better cartridge recycling for customers.

The tech giant introduced HP Instant Ink for small business as well as two new series of its LaserJet Pro during its Amplify Executive Forum partner conference.

HP claims the new LaserJet Pro 3000 and 4000 will simplify technology management for small business owners.

Meanwhile, Instant Ink for small businesses will enable customers to automatically receive device-specific supplies (ink or toner) for devices in multiple locations with a single Instant Ink account.

"Combined with advanced features on the new LaserJet Pro with HP+, an Instant Ink subscription can help small businesses save time and money, makes recycling cartridges easy, and protects and restores forests around the world," HP said.

It comes after a survey found over 80 per cent of small businesses rely on printing to run their business, although 55 per cent say they do not have time to manage the technology.

Respondents said they need a multi-functional printer that is simple to set up and effortless to manage, with automatic ink and toner cartridge reminders and the ability to pair across multiple devices.

"No one listens to the needs of small business and responds like HP," Xavier Garcia, global head of print hardware systems at HP said.

"Entrepreneurs need printing to be effortless - from the set-up process to ordering supplies to monitoring security.

"HP Instant Ink for small business and the new LaserJet Pro with HP+, is an intuitive printing system requiring minimal management so that small business owners can dedicate their time and energy to growing their businesses."

HP claims its Instant Ink offerings has less packaging, fewer shipments and easy cartridge recycling.

It will be available later this year in Europe.
