Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has appointed a new UK managing director with immediate effect.
Matt Harris is assuming responsibility for the end-to-end management of HPE's UK business, people and operations from Marc Waters.
Waters, who led the organisation since 2016, has moved to a new role of senior vice president for the UK, Ireland, Middle East, Africa and High Performance Computing in EMEA.
It means Harris will now lead an organisation with more than 2,000 staff across sites in London, Reading, Manchester, Bristol and Glasgow.
"I'm delighted to take the leadership of a business that I have called home for 18 years and at a time when HPE's edge-to-cloud portfolio is better positioned than it has ever been," he said.
"In a dynamic environment here in the UK, HPE has never been more relevant as we support organisations across all sectors find solutions that help them move forward. I believe strongly that the tech sector has a huge role to play in solving challenges for humanity and business.
"I am 100 per cent focused on making HPE a great place to work, and a great business partner, as well as advancing HPE's core purpose - to advance the way people live and work."
Harris joined the organisation as an intern in 2004 and has worked across the business, from public sector to large global accounts.
He moved into a role as UK sales manager for storage in 2013 and then as UK general manager for servers, before taking over the UK&I Hybrid IT business.
Harris has been an HPE Vice President since 2018 and, prior to assuming his new role, was chief sales officer for the UK.
"Matt is both an exceptional leader and a good friend who truly understands HPE. He is highly regarded by our people, our customers and our partners so I am absolutely delighted to confirm him as our new UK Managing Director," Waters said.
"The entire HPE portfolio is now available as a service through the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform, and our business continues to transform at a rapid pace. Now is the right time for Matt to bring his experience, energy and innovative thinking to lead the next phase of our growth in the UK."
