SCC, Softcat and CDW snag berth on £2bn big data framework

SCC, Softcat and CDW are among 48 resellers, IT services and software firms named as suppliers on a £2bn government framework for big data and analytics.

Running until at least August 2024, the Crown Commercial Service framework is designed to support the creation of intelligent data and analytics functions across the UK public sector.

It is divided into two Lots encompassing Professional Services and Commercial off-the-shelf Software, respectively.

In its customer guide for the framework, Crown Commercial Service said that the prominence of data and analytics had been heightened by Covid-19.

"It is fast becoming recognised as business critical and a core business function, with many government departments now including chief data officers," it stated.

According to the initial notice, the framework has an estimated value of £2bn. It will run for two years, with an option to extend by two one-year periods.

One of 25 suppliers on the off-the-shelf software Lot, SCC said it has teamed up with IBM to deliver solutions through the framework agreement.
