Computacenter says it is weighing up a downsize of its offices following the explosion in hybrid working as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

At CRN's MSP Transform event last week, Computacenter's head of HR Victoria Staines told the audience that while the group has no plans to shut any offices, it is however evaluating the use of some where footfall has dropped.

"We are looking at where our offices are.

"We've got some really big offices like Hatfield and London where we've got really quite large offices with footfalls.

"But some of the smaller offices that are big enough for 100-150 people are only seeing 20/25 people going in every day," Staines said.

"So we're evaluating as the lease comes up, whether we keep that office, and we do it so there's collaboration areas, privacy areas, etc.

"Or whether we downsize because we're committed to having the desk for everybody should they want it or commit to hybrid for those that can do it all those who can work in a hybrid way."

She added:

"But we are downsizing some of the offices and utilising WeWork so that we can flex up and down as we work out what's going to happen over the next few years."
