The Channel Awards 2022 and XMA - Meet the Finalists!

Today, the CRN team is gearing up for the biggest event in the channel calendar - The Channel Awards!

One of the distinguished finalists at this year's awards is reseller XMA, which is a contender for three separate awards including Reseller of the Year (£101m+ turnover).

Here we talk to its marketing director Lucy Weedon (pictured) about the partner's highs in 2022.

What would winning a CRN Channel Award mean to you?

Personally, it would mean that losing all dignity by dragging our presentation props around London on an Ikea trolley -would have been for good reason!

But mostly, what an incredible end to a phenomenal result in a really tough market winning would be for us. For the business to be recognised and to be proud of their massive achievement would be amazing. More than deserved for the team.

What have been your highlights of 2022 so far?

Riding into unknown territory on the back of a pandemic has been a challenge for us all but XMA thrived this year and approached 2022 with real passion and energy.

Everyone stepped up a level and we've achieved huge wins in process, efficiencies and our market propositions.

For me the highlight has to be how proud we are of the way in which we have remained driven and as hungry for growth as ever.

What's the most interesting industry trend you've noticed this year?

I cant pick one - as soon as it's a trend, the trend flips! The most interesting thing about our industry currently is how agile it's becoming and absolutely must be.

Trends have been flooding into our world this year and we have to flex with more external factors than ever. Some that we are unable to control. The interest comes from how we respond to them and move forward with consistency.

How has your partner strategy evolved in 2022?

The evolution of our customer first approach has been forefront in our strategic development. Constant research and listening to our customers is key and every part of our partner strategy responds directly to what our customers need from us.

The development of our ESG strategy is of course at the forefront of our strategic partnerships with our customers and expected to remain so.

What are you most looking forward to about 2023?:

Really looking forward to beginning the year with the "CRN reseller of the year" title under our belt of course (hopefully!) I'm excited to see the development of our 7-point strategy into 2023, our refreshed propositions with our partners thriving and naturally the continued passion and energy that we have seen in XMA this year in a fresh (and little less challenging) market would be something that we would all look forward to I think!
